Walks
On a really cold and snowy day in February, we visited the Birmingham Museum's Collection Centre in Nechells. It turned out to be a very shrewd choice as we were relatively warm and dry indoors. Basically this amazing storehouse keeps and preserves items that are not on display in museums or art galleries but are none the less priceless artifacts from our heritage. This eclectic collection was once again totally fascinating. The museum's staff regularly move objects onto and off display to keep the collection interesting for public tours. ___________________________________________ March found us exploring the east side of Digbeth with local historian Richard Trengrouse who took us "to parts that normally one wouldn't reach (or visit)". Everyone was so interested and absorbed in the vast amount of knowledge that was passed on to us that we were 30 minutes late finishing. However all who attended didn't seem to mind at all.
